Updating a Radio Bridge

2.8.0 is the current firmware version for Active911 Radio Bridges.

With the 2.4 update, we’ve changed how the update process works. If you’ve recently received an update notification from us, follow the steps below to update your agency’s radio bridge.

Version 2.4.0 and newer

Updates can take up to 5 minutes to complete. DO NOT UNPLUG WHILE UPDATING

  1. Hold the small button next to the splash screen for five seconds.

  2. The splash screen should show “CHECKING FOR UPDATE.

    1. If there is an update, it will update to “UPDATE IN PROGRESS.

    2. During this process, the bridge will restart itself upon completion.

Updating from older versions:

Version 2.3.0 and prior

Updates can take up to 15 minutes to complete.

  1. Unplug the Radio Bridge’s power cord.

  2. Before plugging the power cord back in, press and hold the small button next to the splash screen.

  3. Plug in the power cord

  4. After 30 seconds, the splash screen will appear

    1. Check that you can see the symbol in the upper right-hand corner indicating the button is being pressed to ensure the bridge registers the button press.

  5. You may release the button once the splash screen has been turned on for five seconds.

Once you have completed these steps, the radio bridge will reboot itself multiple times. This process may last up to five minutes. Unplugging the radio bridge during this process will render it unusable.

Check that the version number displayed on the screen is the newest version.

  • If the version displayed is lower than the new update, repeat the process to begin updating again.

  • If the bridge is unresponsive after 15 minutes please Do Not Unplug the Radio Bridge and contact support at support@active911.com or 541-223-7992.

2.2.1 version

 

  1. Unplug the Radio Bridge.

  2. Plug Radio Bridge back in while holding down the button on the front panel next to the screen until the splash screen goes away.*

  3. The LED light will begin blinking as the update begins.

    1. DO NOT unplug the power cable or the ethernet cable during this process.

  4. Upon completion, you will need to follow the steps above to continue updating your bridge.

*The device must remain plugged in until the LED panel stops flashing
