Push-To-Talk basics(New Overlay)

Similarly to a radio, your device requires you to push a button to transmit over a channel. To transmit, follow the steps below.

Enable Microphone permissions

Before you can transmit via ActiveComms, you must ensure you have given the ActiveAlert microphone permissions. When opening the overlay for the first time or selecting a channel, you will be prompted to grant ActiveAlert microphone privileges. If you try to transmit after denying permissions, you will see a red microphone and a message stating, β€œTap to enable mic permissions.”

Transmitting

  1. To transmit on a channel, make sure that you have speaking permissions on the channel

    1. The push-to-talk bar will have a gold microphone button if you have speaking permissions.

    2. The microphone will be greyed out and unclickable if you do not have speaking permissions or have been muted by an admin.

  1. When the microphone button is pressed, the button will fill in with color depending on your theme while being held.

When done transmitting, the button will revert to the original Battalion Blue.
