In-App Channel Management

In-App Channel Management

What is it?

ActiveComms Admins can now manage channel members and speaking permissions directly within the ActiveComms settings. No need to switch to the web console or contact support for routine membership and permission updates.

This feature gives admins quick, on-the-go control over who can listen to and speak on ActiveComms channels.

In addition to the update to the ActiveComms settings, we’ve transitioned the “Force Mute” button to Channel Management making it easier for you to quickly update speaking permissions on the fly.

What can admins do in the app?

Admins have full channel membership management capabilities right in the mobile app:

  • View the complete list of members currently assigned to a channel

  • Add new users to a channel (including bulk add for multiple users at once)

  • Set per-user speaking permissions:

    • Listen Only (Formally Force Mute): User can hear channel traffic but cannot transmit

    • Listen & Speak: The User can both hear and transmit on the channel

  • Remove users from a channel (with a confirmation prompt to prevent accidental changes)

  • Search and filter the member list for easier navigation

All changes are saved and applied immediately (typically within a few moments).
